The staysail ketch, S/Y PENNY LANE (ex LADY NATALIE) is one of 30 such ketches that were built between 1982 and 1992 in Taiwan. The Scorpio 72 range is known for its superior sailing performance. S/Y PENNY LANE was built in 1992 and was totally refitted in 2014. Her owners undertook a mammoth effort — call it a “labour of love” — and have returned the yacht to as near her original appearance as possible, having used as many original fittings as they could source! Testimony to their dedication to the task is there for all to see: S/Y PENNY LANE is looking beautiful! She is offered for charter in the Eastern Mediterranean with a dedicated crew of three.

The decks of LS/Y PENNY LANE are brand new and immaculate. After a day of sailing and a leisurely dip in the sea, many charter guests enjoy nothing more than to lay out in the sun and listen to the gentle rhythm of the waves. Below decks, S/Y PENNY LANE offers comfortable accommodation for up to 8 guests. Her layout provides guests with the choice of two identical double cabins, located aft in addition to two forward cabins, one double and one twin with upper and lower bunk berths.

The yacht is a cosy haven on the sea for couples and for honeymooners: the two aft doubles merge into one, creating a large master suite.

All cabins are air conditioned and have their own en suite facilities.

Captain Bekir has a very warm personality and is intimate with he Easter Mediterranean cruising grounds. His wife, Selen’s passion for cooking plays a major part in making this yacht the perfect choice for a vacation on the water! She is very talented and knows where to source the best organic produce which means that every meal is a highlight. Beaker and Selen are joined by an additional crew member, who also speaks English.

Sailing the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean in the company of a very hospitable and friendly Turkish husband and wife team is likely to be one of the best travel experiences on offer anywhere.

Yacht Charter Brokers who attended the Marmaris Yacht Charter Show were given a chance to view the Scorpio 72, S/Y PENNY LANE and meet the yacht's owner/operators, a charming couple who are experienced charter yacht crew: Bekir and Selen Comez. Bekir and Selen are both English-speaking. They are extremely good-natured folk, eager to smile and easy to converse with. Best of all, being Turkish, they both have a really good sense of hospitality. Bekir and Selen take pride in the quality of service that is offered on board S/Y PENNY LANE, paying special attention to the individual needs of their guests. Selen is an experienced cook, who is able to combine her love of Turkish cookery with a well-rounded selection of international-style dishes, featuring fresh and organic produce.

Bekir holds an Offshore Yachtmaster's Licence and over the course of his seabourne career, has logged many thousands of sea miles. He speaks English and Spanish fluently and has a very in-depth knowledge of the local cruising area. He is witty and easy going, with a great smile and the ability to ensure that S/Y PENNY LANE 's guests are enamored of their Eastern Mediterranean sailing experience.

S/Y PENNY LANE was built in 1991 and has just undergone a total refit. The finishing touches were still being put in place during the Marmaris Show, but now that the refit is complete and the photos have been taken, we are pleased to be able to share some proof of just how successful the refit was! From the accompanying photos, you will see that S/Y PENNY LANE is looking entirely shipshape. She is offered for parties of up to 8 guests, with accommodation being laid out as two identical double cabins, located aft, and two forward cabins, one double and one twin with upper and lower bunk berths, located forward of amidships. The two aft doubles can be combined to create a large master suite. All cabins are air conditioned and have their own en suite facilities.
