Choosing a charter yacht is always an exciting activity. You need to answer some good amount of questions in order to find the one – the right vessel for your perfect holiday. For example, whether it will be a gulet of a motor yacht, or perhaps, a catamaran? What about a port of call? You should also think about itinerary, presence of fitness equipment onboard and toys with games to keep children entertained. So, in general, there are many questions, and it’s a good thing that there are answers to each and one of them.
Speaking of the entertainment for children and not only. Aboard each yacht, with some exceptions of course, there is always a good variety of “water toys” – equipment for water sports. Some vessels have reached a very high level in terms of the variety. Even yacht charter agents get surprised when they find out how many and what kind of “toys” a yacht features when they visit various yacht shows. So the guests may be sure, they’ll have plenty of choices what to do while chartering a yacht.
Every year technology changes, and yacht owners watch closely after novelties and updates in the world of the equipment for water sports, so that their nautical beauties feature them all.
The more simple a yacht is, the more modest a variety of “water toys” it has. However, to be fair, it’s not always the case. Some relatively small and affordable catamarans or gulets feature quite nice “water toys” for the entertainment of the whole family chartering a yacht.
So, from small to big ones: what are those “water toys”? Tubes, masks, flippers, donuts, kayaks, canoe – with those you won’t surprise people much. However, it is indeed a pity if there is no canoe or kayak aboard. As it’s a very nice way to explore the coast near which your yacht is anchored. For example, it is very popular to sail around the old town of Dubrovnik and cursed island of Lokrum with kayaks. So make sure a yacht you choose has this mode of transport. If no, there’s always a way to correct that.
If the size of a yacht allows, most probably there will be Jet Skis, submarines, Seabobs, and paddleboards. The last ones you use to stand on them and explore the nearby areas. But let’s keep on listing the toys: water skis, wave runners, trampolines, inflatable slippery dips and islands for the whole family. Let’s not forget about a fly board and a Jet surf for those who like extreme.
Besides, some yachts feature not only one tender, but even two or three for the maximum comfort. One is used to assist during usage of “water toys”, another will take guests who are not into water sports activities to the shore to wander around town, explore a new island or just sit peacefully in café and watch the scenery.
The advantage of “water toys” is that after breakfast or lunch, whenever you’re ready, you may have some good fun near the yacht with all the family members or friends, who love activities. It is joyful and entertaining for sure. By the way, if you want to keep memories of these moments, don’t sink your phones in water while having fun and taking photos. Ask a crewmember to take some pictures from the distance so you could enjoy joyful moments later on.
Don’t worry if you have never used any of those “water toys” mentioned above. There’s always an experienced crew who is ready to help and teach you everything you need. This is one of the reasons why you have crew onboard: to make your life easier during the vacation, and to make your holiday – memorable. Besides, some charter yachts have professional instructors with whom you’ll learn not only techniques, but acquire new skills.
All you need to do is to decide how you want to spend time and whether you love the sea to the extent of using “water toys” all day or you prefer a leisure holiday with less activities being surrounded with the sound of the sea, singing of cicadas, tender sun and caring hospitality of the crew.
