DAY 1

Embark in Marmaris and set sail for Kadirga Bay. This is a very attractive bay with clear blue waters, perfect for snorkeling and swimming. Later in the day, settle down to read a book or take a nap in the gentle afternoon sun as your yacht makes its way further down the coast and into the landlocked harbour of Bozukkale. Anchor beneath the walls of an ancient citadel and enjoy dinner ashore in a rustic bayside setting, or on board, under the stars.

DAY 3

Cross from Rhodes to the island of Symi and anchor in one of the many beautiful and remote bays on the eastern side of the island, perhaps Aghios Georghios Dhysalonas Bay. Then, during the late afternoon, move on around and into Symi harbour. A late afternoon approach is one of the most beautiful sights imaginable. Once the yacht is moored on the town quay, go ashore to take in the sights and sounds of this delightful small harbour, with its myriad shops and tiny Greek tavernas and restaurants. Symi Harbour’s waterfront is adorned with 19th century neo-Classical buildings and many fine examples of this type of architecture can be found nestled in the folds of the hills surrounding the port. It goes without saying that this is a wonderful place for a memorable night out in Greece!

DAY 4

Re-entering Turkey in the port of Datça, just a short sail from Symi, it is possible to take an overland tour to “The Olive Farm”, and also visit “Old Datca” with its winding cobblestone streets and quaint stone houses. Perhaps enjoy some freshly made lemonade in one of the shady cafes here before returning to the harbour. In the afternoon, sail down to the ancient harbour of Knidos for some excellent sightseeing amongst the magnificent ruins of this most famous of ancient citys. Overnight in a nearby bay, perhaps “Palamut Buku”, with dinner ashore or on board.

DAY 5

Sail back east and into Bozburun for a visit to a Turkish coastal town, which is home to some very friendly folk with rural backgrounds. Bozburun was once an important sponge-fishing centre, but is now better known as a centre for boat building. There is a small selection of shops here, as well and some small cafes and restaurants.

Return to Bozukkale for a chance to see the ruins of ancient Loryma — if they were missed on the way down the coast. Continue on to Serce, the overnight stop, and site of one of the most important underwater excavations ever carried out: the excavation of the “Glass Wreck” – the artifacts recovered during this work are now displayed in the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

DAY 6

Cross to Ekincik Bay in the morning and spend a day at leisure in this most beautiful of bays, where thick pine forest tumbles down steep slopes to the water’s edge and time seems to slow right down. Go ashore to “My Marina Restaurant” prior to sunset and have a meal overlooking the waters of the Mediterranean. It is a special setting and the view is magnificent!

DAY 7

Board a small river boat for a tour of ancient Caunos and Dalyan. The riverboat travels at a leisurely pace, make its way inland along the reed-lined channels of the Dalyan River delta. As the area is under environmental protection, you will likely see a variety of wildlife, including turtles, herons and kingfishers. Enjoy a walk through the ruins of ancient Caunos in the company of experienced local guide. See the theatre, a Byzantine church, a Roman bath house and an Agora, among other interesting relics.

Afterwards, board the riverboat again for the short ride up-river, to Dalyan town. Mid-journey, the boat passes beneath some impressive Lycian rock tombs, dating back to around 400 B.C. These were the final resting places of the Lycian kings and provide a fabulous backdrop for a riverside lunch.

Return to the yacht in Ekincik and set sail for Kumlu Buku. Overnight in Kumlu Buku, with dinner either ashore at the Kumlu Buku Yacht Club, or on board your yacht.

DAY 8

To Marmaris in the morning for disembarkation.
